How do I make a Time Lapse with my XPRO2 / 2+ camera ?

How do I make a Time Lapse with my XPRO2 / 2+ camera ?

  • Introduction

Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which frames are captured is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. Here is an example made with the XPRO2 shot in 1080p with a frequency of 1 frame per second.

  • XPRO2 Time lapse example

  • Get Set Up

1.Battery

To use the Time Lapse mode the camera must be on for several hours. Make sure your battery is fully charged. You can also use an external battery during the Time lapse recording as shown in the example below.

Which Video Editing Software Should I Choose?

Which Video Editing Software Should I Choose?

film strip with tropical images on a laptop

You can find many different digital video editors online. In this article we’ll discuss a few options that are compatible with XPRO cameras.

There’s also some editing software available for download. Here's a list of our choices for free software:

For those with a little more experience who are willing to make an investment, paid software like Final Cut Pro (for Macs) or Sony Vegas Pro (for the PC) are good choices.

Regardless, you can still create some excellent montages with free software. With most you should still be able to:

Cut video
Resize videos
Slow down playback
Add transitions between two videos
Add sound and / or music
Add text
Change the brightness and contrast of your videos

We hope that these tips will help you to create some beautiful videos. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have more questions and don’t forget to share your videos on YouTube and Facebook!
